After Forbes Medi-Tech, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, received final approval for Reducol sales in the European Union (EU) last year, the company signed a five-year sales and licensing agreement with Fayrefield Foods, Crewe, U.K., to supply Re­ducol for use in milk-based drinks. Applications for other food groups are expected to be filed before year-end. Development teams from both Forbes Medi-Tech and Fayrefield are preparing for a product launch in the first half of 2005. Forbes will announce the specific brand name as soon as it is launched in the market.
